There are so many great places to start on this piece, so forgive me if I jump around a bit.

Compositionally, this piece is very strong. Your division of the space into roughly fourths vertically and horizontally is pleasing without being to obvious. The repetitive shapes and angles used in the work really hold it together. Their are so many places that this repetition can be spotted if someone really looks for them, one could almost get lost in the fun of finding them all. I think my favorite is the strong angle of the wave/face/ body and hair of the right figure. I also appreciate the white dots of the dress mimicking some of the white space in the wave. The placement of the figure in the foreground of the framing is a great touch that adds depth.

I find myself trying to figure out the meaning of the elements that have been placed together on your surface, and I come to the realization that I may not be able to figure it out without speaking with the artist. I enjoy that, art should make you think.

There is very little that I could see being changed about this work, and they would be a matter of opinion at best. I think the piece could benefit from the colors of the skin tone being closer to what was used in the boats or vice versa.

Overall, the piece is very masterful and I may have to consider owning a print of it. Thank you for sharing your work with the DA community- Mike
